Job Summary
World Language Teacher - Spanish responsible for instructing monolingual students in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in a language other than English; align instruction to NYS World Language standards; focus on grammar, vocabulary, and language structure while exposing students to the culture and history of places where the language is spoken; assess students using project-based assessments and real-time speaking paired assessments; communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress; prepare and administer World Language checkpoints and assessments; collaborate with co-teachers and administrators on evidence-based instructional strategies; develop and revise World Language curriculum maps; participate in professional development and district committees; model World Language strategies for colleagues; participate in district-led professional development for World Language teachers.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Education
- valid New York State certification in World Language 7-12 in Spanish
