Job Summary
World Language Teacher (Spanish) in Paterson Public Schools. Must hold a New Jersey World Language Certificate (Spanish) and demonstrate knowledge of teaching a foreign language, classroom management, and data-informed instruction. The role emphasizes effective communication in English and Spanish with students, staff, parents, administrators, and the community; use of electronic tools for word processing, data management, and digital presentations; and a motivated, enthusiastic approach to engaging learners. Required Qualifications
- Hold a New Jersey Teacher of World Language Certificate (Spanish)
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of teaching a foreign language
- Knowledge of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, and classroom management
- Knowledge of assessment and data analysis for instructional purposes
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and in another language, both orally and in writing, with students, staff, parents, administrators, and the community
- Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community
- Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, digital technology to augment authentic learning, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications
- Must be computer literate
- Highly motivated result-driven educator
- Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
