Job Summary
Commercially-minded Workshop Manager overseeing a 17-strong team of on-site and field technicians, apprentices and MOT testers in a Poole workshop. Responsible for day-to-day workshop operations, staging and scheduling, liaising with Head Office and regional branches, driving efficiency and profitability, overseeing invoicing and parts, ensuring quality diagnostics and highest first-time fix rates, managing workshop loading with the Foreman, supervising recruitment and development of apprentices, and ensuring health and safety compliance. Requires strategic leadership, strong communication, and a proven track record in workshop management and diagnostic capability.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in managing a workshop/team of technicians and support staff
- Strong diagnostic and technical management experience
- Commercial awareness and ability to manage P&L
- Experience with invoicing, parts ordering and workshop admin
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements in workshop environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- MOT knowledge or certification advantageous
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar
