Workshop Leading Hand – Fabrication / Exhibition Builds

Job Summary
Lead workshop fabrication and assembly of custom exhibition stands, displays, event structures, and bespoke cabinetry components. Interpret production drawings and translate them into high-quality finished products. Fabricate with materials such as MDF, laminate board, ply, and other production materials. Coordinate with the CNC Operator on work orders and production requirements. Supervise workshop staff, including CNC Operators and Assistants, by allocating daily tasks and monitoring output. Maintain quality standards through in-process checks and final inspections before handover. Manage stock levels, material handling, storage, and re-ordering requirements. Ensure safe operation of factory machinery and maintain machinery maintenance schedules. Operate a forklift and assist with loading, unloading, pick-ups, deliveries, and warehouse duties where required. Support on-site work as needed and contribute to better, more efficient production processes. Follow WHS requirements, company SWMS, PPE standards, and site safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Trade background is essential
- Ability to understand and interpret construction drawings
- Experience using a range of tools and factory machinery
- Strong leadership, communication, organisation, and time management skills
- Own tools
- Forklift ticket is desirable but not essential
- A proactive mindset with a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement
