Job Summary
Manage and lead a team of technicians, engineers, and support staff to ensure smooth operations and project execution. Oversee daily workshop activities, coordinating with project teams, procurement, and other departments to meet deadlines while ensuring tools, equipment, and materials are available and well-maintained. Plan and prioritize team workload, adapting to changing circumstances and reporting progress effectively. Implement quality control measures, enforce health and safety protocols, and conduct risk assessments to address issues promptly. Generate and manage technical documentation including build logs, non-conformance reports, and standard operating procedures. Provide training and mentorship to team members, ensuring all staff follow safe and efficient procedures. Travel to customer sites as required, sometimes working alone for extended periods.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience leading a team in a similar role or industry
- Strong mechanical/engineering background
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks based on company objectives
- Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to inspire and motivate others
- Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify technical, systemic, or process-related issues and offer solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Full UK Driving License
- Must be able to travel to customer sites as required, sometimes working alone and for extended periods
