Job Summary

The 1st Class Mechanic repairs, installs, adjusts, and maintains industrial production and processing machinery across sectors such as power generation, oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, and pipeline systems. Responsibilities include disassembling and reassembling machinery, inspecting and testing equipment, positioning and aligning components using precision measuring tools, reading blueprints and specifications, operating forklifts and cranes, grinding and finishing parts, and documenting all repairs in inspection reports. The role emphasizes maintaining equipment condition, ensuring adherence to customer specifications, and upholding safety and quality standards. Preferred education is an Associate’s Degree in a mechanical field, with HS diploma and 4-6 years of relevant experience also acceptable. Candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with rotating equipment (steam and gas turbines, compressors, pumps, gearboxes), crane and rigging training, electrical/digital systems knowledge (preferred), proficiency with micrometers/calipers/dial indicators, and excellent English communication. The position requires physical endurance to handle parts, operate in environments with heat, cold, dust, and loud noise, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Mechanical field preferred but not required
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 4-6 years of relevant experience and/or training

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and use of precision measuring tools
  • Experience in job planning, disassembling and reassembling complex assemblies
  • Training in crane and rigging, and heavy lift procedures
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience on rotating equipment such as screw compressors, axial flow compressors, centrifugal compressors, barrel compressors, expanders, steam turbines, and compressors
  • Knowledge of electrical and digital systems is preferred
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding technical documentation, blueprints, and layouts
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
  • Possess a sufficient quantity of professional hand tools
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in environments with heat, cold, dust, and loud noise
  • Ability to document job activities in written inspection reports
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
  • Strong planning, organizational, and safety/compliance mindset
