Job Summary
The Workplus+ Student Teacher/Internship position involves assisting in the planning and implementation of classroom activities focused on children's developmental needs. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, maintaining classroom management, communicating with parents, and ensuring safety and compliance with state regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess high school diploma or GED.
- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university required.
- A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and completion of YMCA Driver Orientation are required only for employees who will perform driving responsibilities as part of their role.
Desired Qualifications
- Two years experience working in early childhood field strongly preferred.
- Must be able to obtain a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or equivalent as determined by the YMCA Childcare Branch.
- CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen required within first 60 days of employment and kept current.
Additional Requirements
- Candidates without a valid license may still be hired but will not be eligible to drive YMCA vehicles until requirements are met.
