Job Summary
Support the application engineering team for automotive Ethernet PHY products with hands-on hardware lab work (assembly, modification and rework of electronics), setup and configuration of test environments, and reading schematics/PCB layouts. responsibilities include bring-up and verification of test/evaluation boards, verification of power interfaces and PHY operation, functional and conformance testing per automotive standards, and documenting structured test reports. The role targets students pursuing electrical engineering or IT studies with basic electronics, measurement, Python/C programming, and version-control skills, and offers hybrid work from Hamburg, Germany, with an hourly wage of €18.90 and 30 vacation days. The position emphasizes lab work, hardware debugging, and documentation in a collaborative automotive research environment.
Required Qualifications
- Ongoing studies in electrical engineering, information technology or similar
- Basic knowledge of analog and digital electronics
- Basic knowledge of electrical measurements (e.g. voltage, current, oscilloscope)
- Basic knowledge of Python and C programming, including related toolchains
- Basic understanding of version control workflows (e.g. Git, SVN)
- Hands-on mentality and willingness to work in a lab environment
- Experience with lab tools and measurement equipment (power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, soldering irons) is a plus
- Reading schematics and debugging hardware setups
