Workforce Development Specialist - Job Developer

Job Summary
Develop and maintain partnerships with employers in IT, construction, culinary arts, and allied health sectors to secure internships, apprenticeships, and direct job placements. Coach clients on resume development, application processes, and mock interviews while advocating for tailored job leads and addressing employment barriers. Submit candidates to fulfill monthly, quarterly, and annual placement goals, accurately report placements in Salesforce, and update the job bank with new opportunities. Lead professional development workshops, attend external job fairs to establish new partnerships, and travel between Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx to support job seekers.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Education or related field
- At least 2 years of Workforce development
- At least 1-2 years of job placement experience
- Proven experience working with low-income, limited-English, and immigrant populations
- Ability to travel to different boroughs
- Attend events on the weekends occasionally
- Work occasionally out of the Commonpoint Bronx site at least 20% out of the time and Queens site 80%
- Travel outdoors to connect and establish relationships with business leaders at least once a week
Desired Qualifications
- Salesforce a knowledge preferred but not required
- Spanish, Yiddish, or Russian is a plus but not necessary
- Knowledge of Canva or other graphic design platforms
