Job Summary
Risk Consultant responsible for identifying and reducing workers’ compensation risk for clients, providing day-to-day strategic claim oversight, guidance on risk management, and best-practice process implementation to control costs and improve long-term WC program performance. Responsibilities include evaluating client risks, recommending actions to minimize exposure, providing consultative WC jurisdictional guidance, coordinating with WC claim adjusters, conducting video/telephonic claim reviews, reviewing litigation correspondence, managing medical billing and negotiations, entering first reports and notes into the claim system, assessing subrogation potential, overseeing vendor programs (Managed Care, Bill Review, Nurse/Field Case Management, Surveillance, Subrogation, Medicare Set Aside), attending in-person client meetings, and producing reports/scorecards for loss data trends.
Required Qualifications
- State Risk Management license (Property & Casualty Agent, Risk Manager, or Adjuster)
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of professional experience in Risk Management/claims adjusting
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage fast-paced environment, attention to detail, and strong communication skills
