Workers' Compensation Injury Counselor

Job Summary
Coordinate all related activity with local team management, third-party administrators, medical case management, and outside counsel to resolve workers' compensation claims. Promptly investigate newly reported work-related injuries to determine compensability and ensure injured Team members receive appropriate medical care. Assist Team members through the claims process, maintain accurate records for incident details and financial information, and manage key components including medical, indemnity, and legal aspects. Facilitate Return to Work by coordinating with facility managers and executive leadership, and assist with bill/invoice review and settlement negotiations. Manage communication with all parties and support the WC Program Lead with mentoring other counselors.
Required Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of Workers' Compensation claims handling process
- Minimum of two years' experience in managing Indemnity claims
- Experience serving as liaison between injured workers and insurance professionals
- Proficiency in managing expectations from business partners such as attorneys, claims adjusters, and vendors
- Proficiency in the determination of injury claim values based on available medical and legal factors
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proven successful track record of being hard-hitting, enthusiastic individuals who accomplish goals in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong research skills
- Superb verbal and written communication and organization skills
