Job Summary
Workers Compensation Defense Attorney for an in-house litigation role, focused on defending litigated Workers’ Compensation claims in Iowa and Nebraska. Responsibilities include conducting legal research, evaluating legal techniques, drafting legal documents, and negotiating settlements. Requires knowledge of federal and state laws governing insurance, excellent analytical and communication skills, and leadership capabilities. Must be able to interface with various parties, manage projects effectively, and demonstrate a high ethical standard.
Required Qualifications
- A Juris Doctor Degree and admission to the bar (in good standing) in employed state(s) required.
- A minimum of four (4) years of legal experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of experience in the insurance industry preferred.
- Ability to draft and review simple contractual instruments.
- Strong problem solver; excellent project management skills; attention to detail.
