Job Summary
Receive, gather, and transmit workers' compensation information from insureds, claimants, and internal staff. Investigate, evaluate, and resolve lost time claims, including litigated matters, while mediating disputes between the insured and insurance company with minimal leader support. Enter and maintain accurate data on the computer system for the claim process, including final settlements, and generate checks for indemnity and medical payments daily. Monitor consistency in procedural matters and research coverage issues as they arise. Willingness to become licensed is required in the jurisdiction where claims are handled.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 3-5 years claims experience
- strong background in Workers' Compensation claims handling
- Active state specific Workers Compensation License
- ability to acquire license within three months of hire
- proficient knowledge of Workers' Compensation insurance coverage
- knowledge of claims processing procedures
- ability to adjudicate lost time claims across multiple jurisdictions
