Job Summary
Review, assign, and supervise all claim activity for designated California claims to ensure compliance with corporate standards and applicable laws. Investigate, evaluate, and adjust assigned claims while establishing and overseeing reserves within established authority levels. Provide oversight of medical, legal, damage estimates, and invoices to negotiate disputed bills and authorize payments within payment authority. Direct handling of litigated and complex claims, including selection and supervision of outside vendors. Provide education, training, and development support for claim staff while maintaining a personal diary on the claim system.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of California Workers' Compensation claims handling experience, including full claim investigation, evaluation, and resolution
- 3+ years of claims handling Supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee adjusters in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment while maintaining quality and service standards
- Strong understanding of California Workers' Compensation regulations, claim practices, and compliance requirements
- Active California SIP, or the ability to obtain one
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with adjusters, clients, and internal partners
- Working knowledge of entry- and mid-level WC adjusting roles and workflows
- Reliable attendance during established client service hours for the Las Vegas, NV or Irvine, CA branch office
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience supporting PEO, temp agency, and agriculture accounts
- AIC, CPCU, or ARM
- Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency
