Job Summary
Review, assign, and supervise all claim activity for designated California claims to ensure compliance with Corporate Claim Standards and state laws. Investigate, evaluate, and adjust assigned claims while overseeing reserve establishment, medical reviews, legal estimates, and disputed invoice negotiations. Authorize payments within established authority limits, negotiate settlements, and directly handle complex or litigated cases. Provide education and training to claim staff, manage outside vendor referrals, and maintain accurate personal diaries on the claim system. This advanced training position supports global clients in protecting employee assets through customized third-party administration solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of California Workers' Compensation claims handling experience, including full claim investigation, evaluation, and resolution
- 3+ years of claims handling Supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee adjusters in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment while maintaining quality and service standards
- Strong understanding of California Workers' Compensation regulations, claim practices, and compliance requirements
- Active California SIP, or the ability to obtain one
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with adjusters, clients, and internal partners
- Working knowledge of entry- and mid-level WC adjusting roles and workflows
- Reliable attendance during established client service hours for the Las Vegas, NV or Irvine, CA branch office
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience supporting PEO, temp agency, and agriculture accounts
- AIC, CPCU, or ARM
- Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency
