Job Summary
Defend Workers' Compensation cases in Illinois and Missouri by gathering medical evidence, taking depositions, conducting discovery, and performing legal research. Draft pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, and opinions while litigating before workers' compensation judges or referees. Represent the employer or insurer at hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations, negotiate settlements, and manage costs to reduce liability. Monitor loss run reports, coordinate claims reviews, and compile management reports. Requires a J.D. and bar license in Missouri or Illinois. Required Qualifications
- J.D.
- Missouri or Illinois bar license
- Working knowledge of legal principles and practices
- In depth knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations
- Thorough knowledge of legal research techniques and legal terminology
- Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, research and administrative skills
- Self-motivated
