Workers' Compensation Analyst

Job Summary
Manage all aspects of assigned workers' compensation claims, including investigating reported injuries, determining causal relationships and disability extent, and developing resolution plans per state and federal statutes. Educate employees with work-related injuries on available benefits, estimate reserves to satisfy liability, and manage approved vendor services to maximize return on investment. Travel between Connecticut and Rhode Island offices as necessary. Requires a Rhode Island claim adjusting license obtainable within 30 days of hire, high school diploma, and minimum one year experience in medical insurance, risk management, or legal offices.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have or be able to obtain Rhode Island claim adjusting license as mandated by state regulations within 30 days of hire
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Medical insurance, risk management or legal office
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft software (excel & word)
- Strong work ethic
- Pleasant demeanor in dealing with injured workers, medical providers, attorneys and other third parties
- Critical thinking and situational analysis skills
- Light Lifting
- Stooping
- Twisting
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in HR or Finance
- Previous experience in project management or supervisory capacity
- Currently holds Rhode Island claim adjusting license as mandated by state regulations in order to perform certain transactions under the appropriate jurisdiction
