Job Summary
Maintenance Worker responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, along with related structural elements at The Mall at Short Hills. Duties include inspecting the facility, performing repairs on electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, painting and drywall work, interior/exterior lighting maintenance, operating equipment for preventive maintenance, supporting other departments for events, maintaining safety records and logs, and coordinating with management to schedule preventive programs. Must be capable of reading plans, following OSHA guidelines, and working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. The role requires self-direction, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently with basic knowledge of fire protection systems and safety practices.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Technical School certifications and/or training preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years building maintenance experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and schematic drawings
- Ability to present information effectively to management and tenants
- Ability to diagnose problems on equipment
- Knowledge of basic electrical systems
- Knowledge of safety rules and accident prevention
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Valid Driver’s License
