Job Summary
Process multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule in Workday, including regular cycles, off-cycle runs, and reconciliation of stock/equity transactions. Audit results to ensure compliance, execute tax deposits through Workday and ADP SmartCompliance, and resolve discrepancies with clear documentation. Monitor tax thresholds, support year-end activities like W-2 processing and ACA reporting, and prepare accurate documentation for audits. Partner with HR Business Partners on compensation changes, new hire setup, and leave inquiries while helping document and standardize processes. Leverage AI-driven tools to improve accuracy, speed, and scalability of payroll workflows.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience
- Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll
- Working knowledge of ADP SmartCompliance
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage tight, non-negotiable deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
- Clear, professional communicator
- Proficiency in Excel

- Experience in a multi-state environment
- Hands-on experience with equity or stock-based payroll
- Experience using AI tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, or process automation
- Comfort experimenting with automation, prompts, and system capabilities to reduce manual work
- Curiosity and adaptability
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification
