Workday Functional Architect

Job Summary
Lead end-to-end Workday functional delivery across multiple modules (HCM, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, Talent & Performance) and act as the functional design authority translating complex business requirements into scalable configurations. Own client relationships through the full project lifecycle, mentor and manage a team of 8–10 functional consultants, design and govern Workday Business Process Frameworks, security models, and reporting structures, and collaborate with integration/technical teams to align functional and technical design. Drive release readiness activities, contribute to pre-sales/scoping, ensure data integrity and audit readiness, and produce high-quality design documentation and knowledge-transfer materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or a related field
- 7–10 years of overall Workday experience with hands-on configuration across at least three functional areas (Core HCM, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, Talent & Performance)
- Workday Pro certification in at least one functional area strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing functional teams of 8+ consultants in delivery/implementation
- Proven track record of direct client engagement including requirement gathering, solutioning, and stakeholder management at senior levels
- Strong command of Workday Business Process Framework, reporting, calculated fields, and security configuration
- Experience with full-cycle Workday implementations; AMS or managed services experience is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and impact assessment capabilities
- Excellent communication skills for business and technical audiences
