Workday Financials Technical Lead

Job Summary
Lead technical ownership of the Workday Financials platform, partnering with Finance to define data governance and data flow design, and aligning the Workday roadmap with business needs. Own integration execution and validation across systems (EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, REST/SOAP APIs), establish configurations for security and governance, and ensure data consistency between Workday and downstream systems. Manage biannual Workday releases, coordinate testing and release activities, and drive change management. Provide user guidance and documentation, translate complex finance requirements into functional configurations, and collaborate with Finance and Accounting leadership to support daily operations and evolving business requirements. Maintain data models, governance standards, and audit/compliance requirements, and work with internal IT and external partners to sustain a scalable, secure enterprise Workday environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience supporting enterprise systems, preferably in Finance or Accounting environments
- 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting Workday Financials in a functional lead, analyst, or product owner role
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes and financial system controls
- Experience with Workday business process configuration, security roles, and system functionality
- Experience supporting system testing, releases, and production environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to business terms and present solutions in a user-friendly language
- Experience with Workday integrations (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors), APIs (REST/SOAP)
- Experience supporting post-implementation Workday environments
- Experience working with Workday AMS partners or consultants
- Familiarity with Workday integrations and reporting
- Workday Financials certification
- Background working directly with Finance or Accounting teams
