Job Summary
Generate clinically optimal treatment plans for radiation therapy patients by collaborating with radiation oncologists, technologists, and medical physicists. Conduct CT simulation, contour critical structures, and perform image registration using Varian TrueBeam and IX linear accelerators. Apply radiation physics and radiobiology principles to execute 3D conformal, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, and brachytherapy planning while performing accurate dose calculations. Assist with quality assurance, patient-specific measurements, and clinical research initiatives. Participate in educational activities, charge capture, and departmental quality management. Maintain high accuracy and safety standards throughout treatment planning and delivery processes.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) or board eligibility
- Board eligibility
- Board certification
- CPR
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified Dosimetrist
- Solid/Strong overall performance rating in annual performance reviews
- Demonstrates expertise in radiation treatment planning for simple and complex scenarios
- Maintained adequate CE credits to retain certification
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Completion of a Medical Dosimetry educational program accredited by the Joint review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)
- Board certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
- Board certified within two attempts in the first two consecutive years of employment
