Job Summary
Generate clinically optimal radiation treatment plans for patients in collaboration with radiation oncologists, physicists, and technologists. Conduct CT simulation, contour critical structures, and perform image registration using Varian TrueBeam and IX linear accelerators. Apply principles of radiation physics and radiobiology to execute complex planning techniques including IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, and brachytherapy. Perform accurate dose calculations, assist with quality assurance and patient-specific measurements, and participate in clinical research and educational activities. Maintain high accuracy and safety standards while supporting the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center network.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) or board eligibility
- Board eligibility candidates must become board certified within two attempts in the first two consecutive years of employment
- Maintain adequate CE credits to retain certification
- CPR based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Maintain a Solid/Strong overall performance rating in annual performance reviews
- Demonstrate expertise in radiation treatment planning for simple and complex scenarios
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Completion of a Medical Dosimetry educational program accredited by the Joint review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)
