Work Leader - Master Mechanic

Job Summary

Perform service, inspections, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of wheeled vehicles, track vehicles, engineer equipment, and power generation systems. Coordinate and prioritize daily maintenance activities, assign work tasks based on technician skill level, and monitor repair progress to meet production schedules. Serve as the primary technical advisor for troubleshooting, conduct final inspections prior to returning equipment to service, and train mechanics on shop safety and troubleshooting techniques. Ensure maintenance actions are accurately recorded in work order systems and communicate equipment status to management. Lead safety discussions, maintain clean work areas, and act as the shop lead during periods when supervisory personnel are unavailable.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience performing maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and overhaul of diesel, gasoline, electric, and/or heavy equipment vehicles
  • Proven leadership experience mentoring, training, and directing mechanics in a maintenance or fleet operations environment
  • Advanced knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, brake, suspension, steering, drivetrain, HVAC, and engine systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and maintenance procedures to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance programs, shop safety practices, quality standards, and work order documentation
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time
  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance
  • CDL A required
  • ASE and MACS certification required
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position
