Work Control Planner 4

Job Summary
Develop and review detailed work packages for unique and complex mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiological maintenance activities, including time/material/labor estimates and step-by-step instructions; prepare isolation/de-energization procedures and ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirements; manage and expedite work packages, permits, documentation, records, and data in Asset Suite CMMS/SAP and related tools; communicate findings and maintain data integrity across systems; position located on-site at Los Alamos NM (Technical Area 22) with a schedule Mon–Thu 6:30am–5:00pm; requires a degree and extensive experience, or equivalent combination, and a Q security clearance with U.S. citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- Degree and 12 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with work control, materials management, and mechanical maintenance
- Ability to fully utilize Asset Suite CMMS and SAP
- Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Strong knowledge of lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures
- Familiarity with safety, regulatory guidance, and environmental considerations in work control
- Experience preparing detailed materials and labor estimates for complex activities
- Ability to develop step-by-step work instructions and procedures
- Ability to manage and expedite priority of work packages
- Experience with permit development, testing requirements, documentation generation, records management, and training
- Strong communication and reporting skills for work control analysis
- Ability to self-supervise and work in a laboratroy environment
- Understanding of facility policies and compliance related to work control and planning
- US Citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance (Q clearance)
- Willingness to work on-site in Los Alamos NM
- Regular interaction with maintenance/operations management and engineers
- Ability to work under safety and security requirements
Additional Requirements
- Q clearance required; U.S. Citizenship required except rare circumstances
- On-site at Los Alamos National Laboratory, NM; ability to obtain federal background clearance
