Job Summary
Work from blueprints, specifications, drawings, and instructions to design, build, remodel, retrofit, and maintain or repair structures. Determine materials and equipment required for work orders, prepare layouts, and mark cutting and assembly lines. Cut materials using chop saws, table saws, and trim routers, then assemble parts with brackets, screws, nails, staples, dowels, or glue. Fit, install, and maintain finished hardware such as locks and kick plates while inspecting completed work for conformance with specifications. Maintain and repair hand or power tools, participate in wood shop operations, and perform other duties as assigned. Requires 2+ years in remodeling, furniture repair, or construction; basic math skills; and familiarity with dowel, butt joint, and dao construction. Full-time, 8-hour day shift Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years' experience of experience in remodeling of wood structures; furniture repair or construction; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have basic math skills, and accurately use a tape measure
- Must have good eye-hand coordination
- Be able to understand basic directions in English (required)
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check are required
- Must be able to stand, walk and lift for up to 8 hours daily
- Vision abilities requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth
- Required to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. continually
- May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Moderately loud noise levels in plant environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using basic hand tools (preferred.)
- Familiar with the following methods: dowel construction, butt joint construction, and dao construction
