Job Summary
Fabricate, assemble, and install custom wood components, cabinetry, and architectural millwork by measuring, marking, cutting, and shaping materials according to construction drawings and specifications. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery including table saws, routers, and planers while inspecting equipment before use. Perform field adjustments to ensure proper fit, alignment, and finish quality throughout the fabrication and installation process. Coordinate with other trades, communicate material concerns to supervisors, and maintain clean, organized work areas while adhering to all safety protocols and property protection standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated professional woodworking, millwork, cabinetry, finish carpentry, or comparable construction experience
- Ability to accurately measure and perform basic construction-related calculations
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications
- Demonstrated proficiency with woodworking hand tools, power tools, and applicable machinery
- Strong understanding of woodworking fabrication and installation techniques
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work safely in an active construction environment
- Reliable transportation to assigned work locations as required
- Formal training or certification in woodworking, cabinetry, millwork, carpentry, or related trade
- Experience in custom or high-end woodworking
- Experience with cabinetry, architectural millwork, custom trim, and specialty wood installations
- Knowledge of multiple wood species and engineered wood products
- Experience with advanced woodworking machinery
- Experience with CNC woodworking equipment, when applicable
- Knowledge of stains, sealers, coatings, and wood finishing preparation
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification
- Experience working from detailed shop drawings and architectural plans
