Job Summary
Lead, direct, and optimize daily wood processing facility operations in Birmingham, including production management, employee leadership, quality assurance, budgeting, and process improvements. Drive operational efficiency, safety, and customer/vendor relations while ensuring compliance with policies and standards. Oversee scheduling, logistics, and financial performance; coordinate cross-departmental collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives. Requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and at least 5 years of management experience in manufacturing/railroad environments; strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills; and knowledge of QA practices and process improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in manufacturing, processing, railroad, or related industrial environments
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities
- Experience with budgeting, financial oversight, and operational reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset
- Knowledge of quality assurance practices and process improvement methodologies
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting and operational equipment knowledge preferred
