Job Summary
Wood Utility Tech responsible for operating a forklift to load pallets and wood waste into the chipper, tidy outdoor work area, and assist with general facilities maintenance. Tasks include moving bales to recycle staging areas, running a sweeper, cleaning parking/receiving areas, assisting with troubleshooting and repairs of building systems and equipment (manufacturing/packaging machinery, plumbing, roofs, HVAC, pumps, valves, electrical and hydraulic devices), performing replacements/repairs of finishes (ceiling tiles, doors, wallpaper, painting), evaluating maintenance operations for efficiency, ensuring safety and compliance, and supporting emergency response and customer service requests. Requires knowledge of tools, ability to service a wide range of equipment, and willingness to perform carpentry, snow removal, and occasional on-call/ overtime duties. Must be able to use technology (smart devices, building automation systems) and complete annual safety training. Education: High School Diploma or GED; Experience: 2+ years in a commercial property setting; Licenses: valid driver’s license; Skills: HVAC/plumbing/electrical/painting/carpentry, basic MS Office, proactive maintenance mindset.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair
