Job Summary
Wood Department Manager responsible for achieving sales budgets and providing an exceptional shopping experience to customers by enforcing company guidelines on sales, customer service, and staff development. Lead merchandising and store presentation, ensure loss prevention and safety procedures, and support the Chief Executive Merchant in delivering superior service. Oversee scheduling, training, supervision, and performance management of store associates; analyze reports (P&L, CPR, BAT, STPOA, STPRC) to optimize merchandising, inventory, pricing, and in-stock conditions; operate POS systems and coordinate with corporate on merchandising and pricing standards. Available to open/close the store and manage human resources or loss-prevention issues as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies and drive Store operations to meet business goals.
Required Qualifications
- Three to five years retail management experience
- Ability to perform in a high volume, highly complex location
- Demonstrated proficiency in recruiting, hiring, and training associates
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
- Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment in managing a fast-paced environment adapting to change with a sense of urgency
- Demonstrated ability to increase the company’s overall market share
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
