Job Summary
Head Coach for Women's Basketball at St. John Paul II Catholic High School responsible for developing, initiating, and administering the program for interscholastic competition; conducts practices and games following diocesan and school policies; maintains eligibility and safety protocols; coordinates scheduling and field/gym use with the athletic director; manages equipment and uniforms; communicates with parents and school staff; upholds Catholic mission and Gospel values; available evenings and weekends as required; holds CPR/First Aid or obtains upon hire; requirement to pass Safe Environment and background checks.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous coaching and/or playing experience
- Current CPR certification and First Aid training, or the ability to obtain such upon hiring
- Knowledge of Catholic Church teachings
- Knowledge of adolescent physical development and sport skills and regulations
- Expertise in fundamentals of the sport
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Ability to work with others in the school community
- Skill in multitasking
- Skill in motivating student athletes
- Skill in organizing information for others
- Skill in job-appropriate technology
- Skill in critical thinking and planning
- Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements and background screening
- Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license
- Valid vehicle insurance
