Job Summary
Screen and assess children for physical and emotional development, preparing individualized Developmental Profiles with age-appropriate activities. Coordinate and implement quality learning programs while providing parenting skills education, literature, and research to mothers. Collaborate with behavioral health clinicians to integrate educational assignments into treatment plans and manage referrals for pediatric care, community reintegration, and childcare services. Facilitate individualized child development and family support services for a caseload of children and families, ensuring all activities align with program requirements and patient treatment goals.
Required Qualifications
- AA degree in Childhood Development or a related field
- Minimum of two years of experience as a resource teacher
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to convey information effectively
- The ability to show compassion and understanding for people dealing with difficult situations, such as addiction and mental health
- Logical thinking, good judgment, and the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Understanding both typical and atypical child development, as well as various special needs conditions
- Must be able to stand, walk, and sit, including driving throughout the shift
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Head Start programs, family childcare settings, or early education programs within a school district
