Job Summary
Coordinate witness management, arrange travel, and prepare documentation for court appearances, pre-trial conferences, trials, and grand jury proceedings. Directly assist fact witnesses with participation logistics, handle inquiries regarding schedules and reimbursements, and manage travel arrangements in accordance with Department of Justice policies. Confer with AUSAs and court officials to address special circumstances, obtain necessary authorizations, and ensure all appearance schedules and documents are provided prior to hearings. Maintain witness calendars, file documentation, and process reimbursement vouchers while performing general administrative duties related to fact witness management.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of legal procedures and terminology
- Knowledge of word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, etc.)
- Strong communication, decision-making, and multitasking skills
- Excellent judgement skills in high-pressure courtroom situations
- Exp. working within a legal setting
- Exp. in witness management
- Exp. providing trial support
- Exp. in administrative work
- Travel may be required
- Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 100% of the time
- Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 100% of the time
- Frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc.
