Job Summary
Wisconsin Construction Services Lead oversees construction administration and inspection on WisDOT highway and infrastructure projects, serving as project leader/manager responsible for scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Responsibilities include contract administration (submittals, change orders, pay estimates), leading progress meetings with WisDOT, contractors, and stakeholders, resolving field/ design/ contractor issues, and providing constructability input. Leads staff, mentors inspectors and technicians, supports recruitment, and contributes to business development (NOIs, interviews, proposals). Requires Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and 7+ years of applicable experience; PE license preferred. Travel across Wisconsin to project sites is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (or closely related field)
- 7+ years of construction administration experience including WisDOT or similar DOT projects
- Demonstrated experience serving as project leader or project manager on transportation construction projects
- Strong knowledge of WisDOT Standard Specifications, Construction & Materials Manual (CMM), and Facilities Development Manual (FDM)
- Strong knowledge of construction materials testing and acceptance procedures for roadway and bridge projects
- Proven ability to manage project scope, schedule, and budget
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Wisconsin
