Job Summary
Operate a mobile service vehicle to travel customer locations for in-field repairs on paving, milling, and compaction equipment. Diagnose and evaluate equipment problems, order parts, write technical reports, and maintain company assets while communicating with others. Perform repairs using established guidelines and flat rates, plan repair sequences, and keep rework within limits. Maintain the service truck, conduct daily inspections, and make overnight stays when required. Complete paperwork efficiently and attend specified factory training. Work overtime, weekends, and in extreme conditions while modeling safe work habits and adhering to all safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English
- Two (2) years of continuous experience in diagnosing and repairing construction equipment
- Ability to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Furnish and maintain a set of tools and any specialty tools required by the company
- Ability to work overtime, stay overnight, and work on the weekend when needed
- Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license
- CDL if required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card
- Physical ability to push/pull/lift/carry up to 100 pounds without assistance
- Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
- Ability to work in extreme heat or cold and wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions
- Ability to tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odors
- Physical ability to perform maintenance on equipment for extended hours
- Continual mounting and dismounting throughout the workday
- Adheres to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy
- Maintain individual PPE in a functional condition
