Job Summary
Supervise and schedule an assembly and wiring team on projects to meet quality standards and on-time shipment requirements. Provide technical guidance and direct corrective action by ensuring efficient installation of switchgear and power control system components. Train personnel in all areas of assembly and wiring while offering expertise to Field Service Technicians for optimal client responsiveness. Perform point-to-point wiring, crimping, cutting, and labeling of control panels and switchboards following wiring diagram instructions. Manage team resources, appraise performance, and recommend promotions or terminations to the Shop Manager. Prioritize personal and area safety while maintaining a culture of workplace safety.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of switchgear wiring and assembly in a manufacturing facility
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming such as Microsoft Office Business Suite
- Knowledge of accounting software
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Basic math skills
- High School Diploma/GED
Desired Qualifications
- 3 years of experience supervising a team of 5 or more in a manufacturing environment
