Job Summary
Produce electrical wiring drawings, single-line diagrams, and relay/metering schematics for new and existing power plant systems. Review vendor drawings, incorporate them into project designs, and update physical design drawings based on field walkdowns. Assist engineers with initial design requirements and interface with multi-disciplinary engineering teams. Accompany and assist in field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities in Wyoming and Colorado. Work within a project team environment under the direction of the Electrical Project Lead to develop comprehensive electrical system documentation.
Required Qualifications
- An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience
- Experience using BRCM (Bentley Raceway & Cable Management) software
- 8 or more years of detailed wiring design experience in the development of single-line, and relay and metering diagrams, including medium voltage and 480V systems
- Familiarity with digital control systems
- Extensive Microstation and/or AutoCAD design experience on power plants or large facility projects
- A thorough understanding of drafting and design practices and theories
- The ability to interface and communicate with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process
- Must be able to travel to Wyoming and Colorado for field walkdowns and data gathering
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related degree
