Job Summary
Wiring and assembly technician role focused on high-precision instrumentation: wiring and electrical assembly, soldering high-density/SMT connections, mechanical assembly of cabinets and frames, cable loom manufacturing, PCB assembly/repair, and upgrades per documented procedures. Responsibilities include following electrical drawings/diagrams, performing tests, maintaining data integrity in ERP systems, and upholding health and safety/ESD standards. Requires strong soldering skills, IPC-A-610/620 qualifications preferred, ability to read electrical drawings, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a manufacturing environment. Based in Wimborne, UK within Curtiss-Wright manufacturing facility. The role emphasizes compliance with export-controlled information and security screening where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Security contractual compliance will require incumbents to be a sole British National
- Qualification or practical experience in electrical assembly
- Significant previous assembly experience within a workshop manufacturing environment
- Excellent soldering skills including complex high-density connectors and surface mount devices
- Qualifications to IPC-A-610/620 would be an advantage
- Ability to read electrical drawings including wiring diagrams and PCB schematics
- Strong time management and ability to work unsupervised to deadlines
- Good communicator and team player
