Job Summary
Wireperson II at Powell, an engineered-to-order manufacturer of switchgear and electrical equipment for the power generation industry, responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and components. Work involves wiring with cables and connectors, reading single and three-line drawings, reading schematics/blueprints, and collaborating with electricians and technicians. Adheres to safety regulations, participates in safety meetings, and supports root-cause analysis on engineering changes. Tasks include running/bundling wires per Powell standards, installing devices on doors/back pans, terminating cables, installing CAT5/6 and fiber optics, ensuring proper insulation and organization, and maintaining ISO-compliant manufacturing practices.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum education level of a High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- 2-4 years of manufacturing experience
- Ability to read and understand point-to-point wiring diagrams
- Ability to read and use a tape measure
- Must have good command of English (written and verbal)
- Safely use various hand/power tools
- Lift up to 50 lbs using proper lifting techniques
