Job Summary
Wireless Firmware Engineer for SpaceX Starlink Mobile to design and implement physical layer (PHY) algorithms for satellite-based 4G/5G (LTE/NR) eNodeB/gNodeB, develop optimized signal processing on resource-constrained CPUs, run simulations to validate performance, and contribute to PHY/MAC layers of the protocol stack. Role involves identifying and debugging performance issues across PHY/MAC, and collaborating in architecture/design/code reviews. Requires hands-on work with wireless signal processing, embedded software, and proficiency in C/C++ or Matlab; familiarity with 3GPP 4G/5G PHY design, OFDM waveforms, FEC concepts, MAC layer concepts, Linux, git, Python, and SDR experience; and willingness to work extended hours. ITAR considerations apply, with US citizenship or eligible statuses noted for compliance. Perfect for engineers who can blend wireless algorithm development with high-performance software.
