Job Summary
Hybrid Wireless Communications Systems Engineer in Irvine, CA tackling system design, algorithm development, simulation, FPGA support, and lab/field testing across RF/multi-antenna technologies. Responsibilities include leading a multi-disciplinary engineer team, setting development schedules, and contributing to R&D efforts with MATLAB, MIMO/OFDM expertise, and RF subsystems know-how. Requires MS or PhD in a relevant field and a minimum of 3 years of wireless systems experience; U.S. citizenship is required.
Required Qualifications
- MS. degree or Ph.D. degree in wireless communications, electrical engineering, computer engineering, systems engineering, or related fields
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and development of wireless systems
- Experience with RF propagation and channel modeling
- Expertise in digital communication systems (RF subsystems, synchronization, channel estimation, coding)
- Extensive knowledge in signal processing (MIMO, OFDM)
- Knowledge of RF impairments (AGC, phase noise, frequency/clock offset)
- Experience with fixed-point modeling, implementation, verification
- Proficiency in MATLAB programming and simulation
- U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts
- Background check clearance required
