Job Summary
Operate multiple wire straighten and cut machines, adjusting dies, feed wheels, and parameters to meet production objectives. Troubleshoot equipment issues, communicate problems to maintenance, and perform tool and product changes. Load spools using forklifts and overhead cranes, unload straightened wire, and weigh, move, and organize boxes. Label, package, and palletize wire for storage, inventory, and shipping while maintaining quality and production standards. Work 12-hour rotating day and night shifts with an excellent safety record. Complete two weeks of online safety and production training followed by three weeks of on-the-job training.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work 12 hour rotating day and night shifts
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to continually bend, stoop, crouch, reach above shoulder, use arms, wrists, grasp and squeeze with hands, access constricted spaces, and lift and carry up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to dusty or dirty ambient conditions
- Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to hot or cold ambient conditions
- Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to mild chemical irritants
- Must have the ability to complete two or more tasks simultaneously
- Self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision
- Must be able to handle self in a professional manner with co-workers and supervisors
- Ability to take responsibility for self and team
- Must be able to balance and achieve results in the areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost Reduction
- Excellent forklift skills with the ability to safely move pallets of material into storage racks
- Ability to use an overhead crane to safely move products and machine parts with no damage
- Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment
