Job Summary
Program Wire EDM machines using CAM software and machine controls to produce precision medical device components. Perform complete machine setup including fixturing, wire selection, and dielectric preparation while developing optimized machining strategies for tight tolerances. Operate equipment safely to meet blueprint specifications, verify dimensions with precision measuring tools, and maintain process stability through routine preventative maintenance. Complete production documentation, track wire tension and flushing parameters, and collaborate with engineering on tooling improvements and new product introductions. Maintain a clean work area and adhere to all safety procedures and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3–5 years of experience operating and programming Wire EDM machines in a precision manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of EDM machining principles and cutting parameters
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience with CAM software and machine programming for EDM operations
- Proficiency using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment
