Job Summary
Program, set up, and operate wire EDM machines along with other machine tools using part prints, process sheets, and CAD models to produce precision components. Monitor parts throughout production via visual observation and dimensional measurement to ensure specifications are met. Perform preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshoot production issues, and make offset adjustments. For Level II and III roles, program complex tool paths using CAM-I, write and edit EDM programs independently, and work with Engineering on prototyping and validation projects. Maintain a clean, safe work area while adhering to standard safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic shop math skills
- Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and inspection criteria
- Able to run variety of shop equipment
- Must be proficient in the use of standard inspection equipment
- Basic understanding of GD&T
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Experience working with close tolerances in a variety of metals
- Strong understanding of GD&T
- Capable of programing complex tool paths
- Must be able to lift 10-30 lbs
- Some heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs
- Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to eight hours per day
- Regularly required to talk and/or hear, see, handle, reach, see color, and perform repetitive motion
- Occasional travel required
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of trade school
- 0-2 years of machine operation experience
- 3-5 years' minimum experience programming wire EDM's
- 6+ years' minimum experience programming, setting-up, and operating wire EDM's
- CAM-I program experience
