Wire Drawing Operator

Operate wire drawing machinery to size copper/aluminum rods; load wire, splice with electric/manual butt welder, thread through draw blocks, and install/adjust dies. Monitor and adjust traverse and tensions during startup and operation; may run up to two machines. Inspect and sample wire sizes using a micrometer; record process data on control charts; ensure quality of end product. Follow safety rules, maintain housekeeping, and work overtime if required. Use SAP for on-the-job training and recordkeeping. Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor. Must be able to multi-task and work in a manufacturing environment with attention to color differentiation and wear of PPE.
