Job Summary
Operate a 6-ton dump truck equipped with snow plow and sander equipment to plough and salt the County road network. Perform general road maintenance including patrolling, patching, grading, and ditching while replacing driveway and road cross-culverts. Execute equipment maintenance tasks such as washing, greasing, changing plough and wing steel, and oil changes. Manage winter material stockpiling, install snow fences, and clear brush from right-of-way using a diesel chipper and chainsaws. Complete necessary paperwork for documentation of deficiencies and repairs. This role reports to the Patrol Supervisor and adheres to Provincial and Municipal Acts regarding legislative and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid D-Z driver's licence
- Physically able to perform tasks involving heavy labour
- Minimum of three year's progressive experience in the operation of heavy trucks and other related equipment
- Mechanical aptitude to perform a wide variety of tasks relating to equipment maintenance, operation and repair
