Job Summary
Operate a 6-ton minimum dump truck equipped with snow plow and sander equipment to plough and salt County road networks. Perform general road maintenance duties including patrolling, patching, and grading shoulders, while replacing driveway and road cross-culverts using machinery such as backhoes and dump trucks. Execute equipment maintenance tasks like washing, greasing, and changing plough components, alongside stockpiling winter materials and installing snow fences. Manage ditch mowing, tree trimming, brush clearing, and operate diesel chipper and gas chainsaws for right-of-way sight lines. Complete necessary paperwork for documentation of deficiencies and repairs, adhering to legislative standards and operational policies. Perform general shop maintenance including sweeping, cleaning, safety inspections, and repairs.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid D-Z driver's licence
- Physically able to perform tasks involving heavy labour
- Minimum of three year's progressive experience in the operation of heavy trucks and other related equipment
- Mechanical aptitude to perform a wide variety of tasks relating to equipment maintenance, operation and repair
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
