Job Summary
Operate tractors with plow attachments, snow blowers, and sidewalk plows to clear snow and ice from roads and sidewalks, including manual salting and sanding. Remove obstacles hazardous to employees or the public and actively participate in team operations during snowstorms. Comply with all Occupational Health & Safety Act and Highway Traffic Act regulations while reporting vandalism, mechanical difficulties, and hazardous conditions immediately. Complete daily logs, time sheets, and report variances to work plans. Work shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours on a call-in basis from November 2026 through mid-April 2027, Sunday through Saturday.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 education
- 1 year relevant experience
- Class G licence with a good driving record
- Ability to respond to the worksite within a reasonable response time
- Self-motivated with the ability to communicate in a cordial and professional manner
- Able to perform physical labour including lifting and shoveling
- Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail
- Must be a reliable self-starter, able to make decisions and function with minimum supervision
- Must possess good oral and written communication skills
- Have the ability to deal with the public in a cordial manner and work well in a team environment
- Ability to perform a variety of physical activities including lifting, digging, shoveling, raking and climbing ladders and be able to actively participate in daily activities, working within live traffic conditions and adverse weather conditions
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act

- Class DZ licence
- Experience with relevant equipment such as snow blowers, sidewalk plows, farm tractors, skid steers and pick-up trucks with a plow
