Job Summary
Oversee daily operations of a small retail shop or outlet, including opening and closing procedures, restocking, display design, and inventory control. Coordinate and manage a staff of sales clerks and student clerks by planning schedules, assigning tasks, and training new employees. Handle customer complaints, returns, and unusual problems while providing superior service consistent with Resort Etiquette Guidelines. Perform cashier duties, check in merchandise, and maintain general shop cleaning and maintenance. Enforce safety programs and protect company assets in accordance with established policies.
Required Qualifications
- Basic education (high school)
- Two to four years of relevant sales experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must be able to stand for at least 7 hours
- Good, basic reading, writing and math skills
- Retail sales experience
- Must be guest service oriented
- Ability to deal effectively and courteously with customers and other company personnel
- Ability to train and coordinate/oversee the work of other employees
- Clerical/administrative and supervisory skills; some previous supervisor experience desirable
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with the specific type of merchandise sold in the shop desirable
- Previous experience with soft goods or hard goods a plus, but not required
