Job Summary
Design and implement projects to monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of investigations conducted by the Financial Crimes team. Analyze and summarize results for trend analysis using Power BI and Python to support process strategies against large datasets. Independently lead the analytics process to identify valuable insights and promote data-driven practices across the enterprise. Work within an agile team to deliver business needs while seeking new tools and technologies to improve workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning
- Programming skills in one or more languages (particularly Python)
- Ability to data extract, transform, and load processes with a variety of data types
- Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
- Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment
- Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to stakeholders
- Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be located within Ontario for the duration of the work term
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of design, development, and implementation utilizing current analytics technologies and architecture, as well as data warehouse concepts and methodologies
- Ability to learn and absorb new concepts (in business and in systems) quickly and apply new knowledge
